Building Inspections
The building inspection division's primary responsibilities are the administration of building, zoning, and property maintenance ordinances of the city. The application of building code and zoning regulations, building location, use, sign regulations, fencing, yards, and open space is achieved by coordinating development activities such as plan review, permits, inspections, and by providing assistance with the development process to citizens.
MyGov
The City of Royse City has implemented the online software program MyGov. You can apply for permits, register as a contractor, pay fees, and see the status of projects through MyGov. Plan Review Process
Please allow up to 10 business days for the plan review process. All feedback will be provided through MyGov or by email to the contact name listed on the permit application. Once the permit is approved, the contact for the project will be notified through MyGov or by email. Payment for the permit can be made through MyGov , by mail or at City Hall.
Permits
Building permits must be obtained prior to making any improvements or alterations to a property. All permits can be applied for online through MyGov. For assistance with MyGov , please contact us at permits@roysecity.com or (972) 524-4710.
Contractor Registration
Contractors must be registered with the City in order to obtain a permit. Registration may be completed online through MyGov. Please contact us with questions regarding the Contractor Registration process at permits@roysecity.com or (972) 524-4710.
Inspections
All inspections must be requested by scheduling through MyGov , or by email at permits@roysecity.com. Inspection requests must be received by 4 pm for next day inspection.
