The City of Royse City utilizes IRIS (Immediate Response Information System) to send mass notifications for both Emergency and Non-Emergency situations. IRIS has the ability to broadcast notifications through multiple forms of communication to residents quickly. To enroll in IRIS alerts, please fill out the registration form and submit to the City of Royse City Utility Department located at 305 N. Arch Street. (Please note: An annual emergency notification fee not to exceed three dollars and fifty cents ($3.50) shall be imposed on all utility accounts.)
Royse City Fire Department currently operates 7 outdoor warning sirens with two more under construction. These sirens are tested on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at 4:00PM.
Did you know that outdoor warning sirens are NOT meant to be used as a warning system for people inside homes or buildings and should never be relied upon to wake you up? Outdoor warning sirens are meant to alert people outdoors that severe weather is imminent and they should seek shelter immediately. Remember to never call 9-1-1 when you hear sirens sound unless you have a true emergency.
